Laura's Eyes

As soon as Laura walked in my door for her portrait session, I couldn't help but notice her smoldering eyes and began snapping away as soon as she sat down. I thought her eyes told some type of beautiful story. While snapping and chatting with her for a bit, It turn's out Laura is a mother who wanted to find a way to be with her children and earn money w/o sacrificing qt with them. Laura is a school teacher and her children are student's at her workplace. BINGO! There lies the beauty in a mother's eyes who shares her time between teaching and her children all under one roof, and one workplace. Laura said "I get to always be close to my kids."

Have a beautiful Tuesday,
Jazzy

Jennifer's Portrait

Jennifer is a young thirty-something f/t mommy to two boys 1 and 3. Jennifer said she hasn't taken a pro portrait photo in years. Jazzy lens to the rescue! Every mother deserves to take time out to nurture themselves, put a little powder on their nose and enjoy a "me time" moment.  I loved capturing Jennifer's soft smile and sweet personality. Here is Jennifer's beautiful "me" moment.

MOMprenuer Mode

 Happy Monday all!
Let the rat race begin! I've managed to do 3 loads of laundry, make it to the grocery store to buy MORE frozen chicken nuggets (no matter how many homemade meals I prepare this remains my toddler's favorite), mail out our Christmas cards, and vacuum crumbs from this mornings snack. (Those darn fish crackers are lethal on our carpet) and it's not even noon yet! The truth is, before I became a mother I never knew I had the power to handle a billion things at a time. Now I believe that a mother's multitasking ability is friggin' amazing! We can cook dinner, clean up an accident, answer the phone, and change a diaper pretty much simultaneously. **pats myself on the back**
Now I'm getting ready to lay my live baby doll down and kick in to MOMprenuer mode! And this mode means business!

“A mompreneur is a newly coined term for women who establish businesses at home while also acting as the full time parent of their children. The mompreneur movement is one steadily growing in the US as mothers try to find ways to make money, express their creativity or business acumen, and also to parent their children. (Wisegeek.com)”

When JM naps this afternoon, I will be photographing a portrait session, in which I'll be setting up for in my home. Shortly after the session, I'll sip my pumpkin frap (which I also managed to fit in this morning's sched...woot-woot!) and attempt to get some photo editing done. As long as my son is napping, momma is working. I love being able to contribute to my household income and call something my own. I also love and enjoy the flexibility, balance, the reward of having turned a passion into profit, and making precious moments stand still for my family and others. Priceless.

Keep calm and carry on,
Jazzy Mama
